#Summary

This course covers the use of scissor lifts and boom lifts and is delivered in one day at any of our Hutchies Training sites.

Students will be involved in training where they undertake a range of skill development tasks in the preparation to operate the specified elevated work platforms (EWPs). Students will be exposed to a variety of EWPs during the 8 hour program to assist them to safely use and operate electrical, hydraulic and mechanical scissor lifts and boom lifts.

#The Nitty Gritty

#Who it suits

This training supports construction workers in the safe and effective operation of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical scissor lifts and boom lifts.

This training can be applied to construction work on residential and commercial work sites.

#Delivery

Hutchies Training provides tailored face-to-face training to suit the requirements of the job site you are working on — whether it’s a Hutchies project or one of our subcontractors’ jobs.

We make sure you get a combination of practical and theoretical training delivery, and provide study and task guides as well as practical assessment.

#Assessments

At the end of the course, you will undertake both practical and theoretical assessment of your knowledge about scissor and boom lifts. Students are assessed by trainers with skills and experience relevant to the training delivered.

Our assessment processes meet the National Assessment Principles and we provide equipment, facilities, and training materials to create a learning environment that help our students succeed.

To enrol in this course, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Aged 15 years or older
  • No longer at school
  • Living or working in Queensland
  • An Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen

Upon successful completion, participants of this course will receive a Statement of Attainment.

#Units of Competency

CPCCCM3001 / Operate elevated work platforms up to 11 metres

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to operate specific types of elevated work platforms (EWPs) safely and effectively in different locations, including on uneven terrain. The unit includes locating, setting up, operating and shutting down scissor lifts and self-propelled boom lifts with a boom length under 11 metres.
